Hello, my amazing foodie friends! 💖 This is Your K-Friend at K.RIDE!
After our wonderful cafe tour, are you feeling hungry? (I know I am! 😋)
Welcome to the ultimate guide to Jeju Island’s best local restaurants! Forget the tourist traps. I’ve curated a special list for you based on real-time popularity data from Kakao Navi, Korea’s #1 navigation app.
This means these are the Top 10 spots where actual locals are driving to right now. From hearty pork noodle soup to fresh-caught seafood, this is the real taste of Jeju! ✨
🍜 My Top 10 Jeju Restaurants (Where Locals Actually Go!)
1. Ujin Haenjangguk (우진해장국)

- What to Expect: This is a Jeju icon! They are famous for their unique Gosari Yukgaejang (Bracken Spicy Beef Soup). It’s thick, savory, and unlike anything you’ve ever tried. It’s the perfect comfort food after a long day of exploring.
- Location: 11, Seosa-ro, Jeju-si
- 💡 My K-Friend Tip: There is always a line, so be prepared to wait! (It’s worth it, I promise!) I also highly recommend ordering the Nokdujeon (Mung Bean Pancake) to share—it’s super crispy and delicious.
2. Yeon Don (연돈)

- What to Expect: This is probably the most famous tonkatsu (pork cutlet) restaurant in all of Korea, thanks to a famous TV program. The cutlets are ultra-crispy, juicy, and made from premium Jeju black pork.
- Location: 10, Saekdal-ro, Seogwipo-si
- 💡 My K-Friend Tip: Okay, getting a table here is famously difficult. You must check their online queue or reservation system (like Tableling) far in advance. If you succeed, definitely get the Cheese Katsu!
3. Jamae Guksu (자매국수)

- What to Expect: You can’t come to Jeju and not eat Gogi Guksu (Pork Noodle Soup)! This is one of the most iconic places to try it. The broth is deep, rich, and comes topped with tender slices of Jeju pork.
- Location: 46, Hanggollam-gil, Jeju-si
- 💡 My K-Friend Tip: The line here moves pretty fast! If you don’t want a hot soup, the Bibim Guksu (Spicy Bibim Noodles) is also fantastic, especially on a warm day.
4. Oneujeong Gimbap (오는정김밥)

- What to Expect: This is NOT your average gimbap! This legendary spot in Seogwipo serves rolls that are packed with flavor. The secret is the fried tofu and crunchy ingredients inside.
- Location: 2, Dongmundong-ro, Seogwipo-si
- 💡 My K-Friend Tip: This is my most important tip: You MUST order by phone in advance. I’m serious! They often don’t accept walk-in orders because they are so busy. Call them a few hours before you plan to pick it up.
5. Sukseongdo (숙성도)

- What to Expect: My personal favorite for Heukdwaeji (Jeju Black Pork BBQ)! 🐷 This spot is wildly popular because they “age” their pork, making it incredibly tender and flavorful. The staff grills the meat for you to perfection.
- Location: 30, Jewon-gil, Jeju-si (and other branches)
- 💡 My K-Friend Tip: Put your name on the digital waitlist as soon as possible. While you wait, order the Ppyeodeungsim (Bone-in Loin) if it’s not sold out. Also, try dipping the meat in the myeolchi-jeot (fermented anchovy sauce) on the grill—it’s the true Jeju way!
6. Miyeongine (미영이네)

- What to Expect: If you’re an adventurous eater, you must come here. This no-frills spot near Seogwipo Market is famous for Godeungeo Hoe (Mackerel Sashimi). Yes, raw mackerel! It’s super fresh, not fishy, and a true Jeju specialty.
- Location: 42, Hamohanggu-ro, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo-si
- 💡 My K-Friend Tip: The mackerel sashimi is served with seasoned rice and seaweed, so you can make your own little sushi rolls. If you’re not ready for raw fish, their Galchiguk (Hairtail Soup) is also a local delicacy.
7. Jungmun Suduri Bomal Kalguksu (중문수두리보말칼국수)

- What to Expect: This is a true taste of the Jeju ocean in a bowl! They specialize in Bomal Kalguksu, which is a thick, rich, and briny noodle soup made from bomal (sea snails). It’s so unique and comforting.
- Location: 192, Cheonjeyeon-ro, Seogwipo-si
- 💡 My K-Friend Tip: Definitely get the Bomal Jeon (Sea Snail Pancake) to go with your noodles. It’s crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and perfect for dipping!
8. Haenyeochon (해녀촌)

- What to Expect: Located right by the sea in Gujwa-eup, this restaurant lets you taste the freshest seafood caught by Jeju’s famous haenyeo (female divers). It’s a simple spot focused on amazing ingredients.
- Location: 33, Dongbok-ro, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si
- 💡 My K-Friend Tip: This is the perfect lunch spot after visiting nearby cafes (like London Bagel!). Order the Haesanmul Modeum (Seafood Platter) to try a bit of everything, or the warm, comforting Jeonbokjuk (Abalone Porridge).
9. Gojipdol Ureok (고집돌우럭)

- What to Expect: This restaurant specializes in ureok (rockfish) and serves it in the most delicious ways—either grilled or braised in a spicy, sweet sauce. The fish is always tender and flavorful.
- Location: 879, Iljuseo-ro, Seogwipo-si
- 💡 My K-Friend Tip: The Dorureok Jorim (Braised Rockfish) set menu is fantastic. It comes with a ton of amazing side dishes and rice. It’s a perfect, hearty Korean meal.
10. Jeju Kim Man Bok Gimbap (제주김만복김밥)

- What to Expect: Another famous gimbap spot! This one is known for its Jeonbok Gimbap (Abalone Gimbap). The rice is cooked with abalone guts (making it savory and greenish), and it’s topped with sweet, fluffy egg.
- Location: 41, Ora-ro, Jeju-si (and other branches)
- 💡 My K-Friend Tip: This is the perfect “on-the-go” meal. Grab a box of gimbap and a Jeonbok Jumeokbap (Abalone Rice Ball) and take it to the beach for a delicious picnic!
🚖 How to Get Around Jeju?
Okay, so now you have your dream list! But… Jeju is HUGE. 🗺️
These amazing restaurants are spread all over the island, from Jeju-si to Seogwipo. Public transportation is slow and can be very confusing for travelers.
This is where I truly recommend K.RIDE! It’s the taxi-hailing app designed just for international travelers like you. It’s my #1 tip for getting around Jeju stress-free.
Why K.RIDE is Your Best Friend in Jeju:
- ✅ Multi-language app support: No language stress! The app works perfectly in English, Japanese, Chinese, and 130+ other languages.
- ✅ Foreign card-friendly: This is the best part! You can register your international credit card right in the app. No fumbling for Korean cash in the taxi!
- ✅ Automatic destination translation: This is a lifesaver. Just type “Ujin Haenjangguk” in English, and the app automatically translates it for the driver. No need to speak Korean!
- ✅ Fair pricing: The app runs on a fair, standard meter fare, so you never have to worry about being overcharged.
💖 Eat Well and Be Happy in Jeju!
I really hope this data-backed guide helps you find some truly unforgettable meals on the island. From traditional stews to modern BBQ, Jeju’s food scene is as diverse as its landscapes.
